It was the early 1990's Aston Martins ‘new' owners the Ford motor company (also owners of jaguar) had just launched the next generation of Aston Martin , the DB7.

Powered by a straight six cylinder engine but supercharged, the new car had been well received,

It has been said that the Aston Martin DB7, launched in 1993 was the most successful Aston ever. Being designed by Ian Callum/TWR and built at the ex Jaguar 220 plant at Bloxham Oxfordshire this was the beginning of the marriage of Aston Martin/Ford/Jaguar.

Well in true Aston Martin fashion soon after the beginning of production of the DB7 there was a craving for more power and a Vantage version of the car.

Callum was instructed to come up with a design and more powerful car.

The results of his efforts can be seen today in this prototype Aston Martin.

Powered by a unique quad cam 48 valve 6400cc V12 engine producing in excess of 480 BHP and 475 ft lb of torque through a Borg Warner T56 six speed gearbox and on through a limited slip diff to specially cast Cromodora alloy wheels shod with Yokohama AVS 275/35 ZR18, it was enough to make Jeremy Clarkson squeal with delight when the car was first featured on ‘Top Gear’ in 1996.

Very little else is known about this unique car other than several articles being published (Autocar September 1996 & Vantage magazine summer 2016) And to date the car has covered less than 14000 miles.

Additional features of the car include revised front and rear dampers and roll bars, AP Racing brakes with  massive 362mm ventilated front discs and four pot alloy callipers and 305mm rear discs with tow pot callipers. Anti lock braking systems

Two previous owners are listed in the  history of the car , TWR (the design house) and Aston Martin Lagonda (the manufacturer)

Still carry one of the original Aston Martin marketing registration numbers of L5 AML this car is now available and offered for sale by Oselli.
